As we come to the first yahrtzeit of those murdered al kiddus Hashem, we are all certainly revisiting our memories of those dark days. In time honored Jewish fashion, the Vaad is calling on our community to respond by turning to the study of Torah, and is asking for everyone in the community to add an extra hour to their usual learning on Shabbos November 15/16, Parshas Vayera, in memory of the Kedoshim. There are opportunities for men and women to learn and attend shiurim, and our goal is that from candle lighting until Havdalah, TOrah will be learned in our community. Please see the schedule below and join your community in responding through Torah.
In particular, we are asking those not at Shul Friday night to devote the first hour of Shabbos after candlelighting to Torah and Tehillim at home. This is also a wonder opportunity to engage the children in learning the Parsha.
In addition, we will be marking the day with a siyyum on all of Chumash and Mishna at 3 PM at Poale Zedeck. Everyone is enocuraged to participate.
May Hashem continue to protect all of His children, and may our Torah continue to bring light to His world.
